I'm sorry

'70s fashion icon -Bianca Jagger
I'm sorry guys that I have not posted in months. I have been pre-occupied with my new job which has nothing to do with fashion. I guess that's why I have been off the radar. But as I have fully settled into my job, I once again have time to make posts. I will be making frequent posts from now on. I will continue the designer close-ups as I said earlier. But for today, lets talk about the new trends. The bohemian and sophisticated glamour of the '70s are back with high-waisted wide leg pants, neat bow blouses, smart printed jumpsuits. To accessorise, try smart, high quality bags, big statement leather belts, wear lots of jewelry- rings, bangles, etc and complimentary hairstyles like sleek long bob, masses of bouncy curls or long flowing hair.

Sika Close-Up

In the next few months, I would be doing a series of close-ups on African designers that inspire me and reflect positively on the African continent.

First of is Sika. Sika is inspired by the rich and diverse culture of Ghana, West Africa. The designs are handmade using natural methods.

Sika creatively produces a stylish and wearable range mixing West African textiles (ankara) with the trend and styles of London's urban chic.

The Royal Wedding- Prince William and Catherine Middleton

Ahhhh, I don't know what the fuss is about. Everyone is talking about it..on blackberry, blogs, the news........Well, i have no choice but to watch it. Anyway, I think the fuss is because everyone thinks Catherine is the next Diana. We'll see but I believe she can fill in Diana's shoes.

So here we are, my workmates and me, sitting in front of the TV, giggling and watching in anticipation of what the bride would wear. Oh, if only they'd start.

Ah, the queen is wearing yellow. I love the brooch she's wearing. And the hats........Victoria Beckham, I love the  Phillip Treacy fascinator and the Loubitin.

Oh, finally, a glimpse of Catherine. I love the lace top  of her dress.

The lovely bridesmaids and page boys look soooo cute.

OMG, Catherine's dress is soooo beautiful and simple made of Ivory and white satin.

Access to rise - ACCESSORIES

To get that amazing look, we need accessories. Accessories give us access to rise, access to look and feel fabulous, access to get noticed. Whether it be shoes, earrings, bags, sunglasses, rings, necklaces or wrist watches, we need to invest in staple pieces that we can mix and match. However, the ultimate accessory which needs our biggest investment is the Skin. It is what we are wrapped in, the most visible part of our bodies. Ladies, please, take care of your skin. Let your skin speak of you and your character. Just as Yves Saint Laurent said ' over the years, i have learned that what is important in a dress is the woman  who is wearing it', so ladies, invest in your ultimate accessory, it is worth it.

Shoes, Shoes, Shoes

What would we do without them? Not only do they protect our feet from the cold and rain, they make us look good. As Lady Gaga says "A girl's just as hot as the shoes she choose" and i do agree with her. Admit it, we look gorgeous in heels. A shoe can change an outfit from casual to formal.Oh, i just love them.
Clogs, Wedges, Kitten heels, Mary Janes, Stilletos  (gosh, my fav).
